Integrative Health and Medicine in the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease

Noncommunicable diseases are on the rise globally and locally. Diseases such as: Obesity, diabetes, sleep apnea, dyslipidemia, hypertension are all risk factors for Cardiovascular Disease. Environmental toxins such as heavy metals and air pollution have been linked to heart disease, kidney disease and stroke.
Integrative Cardiology treats the whole person: body, mind and spirit and utilizes the wisdom of all healing traditions. Developing programs that focus on reversing cardiovascular disease utilizing integrative medicine strategies is a focus of this workshop.
Workshop Length: 105 minutes
Featuring: Dr. Mimi Guarneri, MD, FACC, ABOIM
Dr Guarneri will review treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease from an Integrative Health and Medicine Perspective. The workshop will focus on lifestyle including the pearls of health such as nutrition, sleep, physical activity, and mind-body therapies. Participants will learn key physical exam finding, functional medicine testing and protocols to treat common risk factors such as dyslipidemia, hypertension diabetes from a holistic perspective.
